    Monday, April 27 - Day 1


    1. Attention students attending the Dave & Buster Field Trip. The dress attire is SJB dress down. Please follow the SJB dress down rules. The guidelines and rules are in the handbook if needed.
    2. There will be an Anatomy Club meeting today from 2:45-3:45. Hope you can attend!

    Friday, April 24 - Special Day


    1. The Spring Blood Drive is Monday. A huge thank you to all who have signed up to donate. Some reminders: If you are donating you will receive your Pink Donation Pass in Advisory on Monday morning. This allows you to dress down for the day, join us in the cafeteria for a bagel breakfast A Period and leave class at your scheduled time. Remember to hydrate well all weekend and eat a hearty dinner on Sunday night. Thanks again for your generous donations! NCAA Spring Signing day will be next Wednesday, 4/29/26 @ 9am. If you are a Senior who has your National Letter of Intent and committed to a D1, D2, or D3 school please see Mrs. Bouklas or Mr. Dalton by Monday, 4/27/26.

    Thursday, April 23 - Day 6 


    1. The Spring Blood Drive is Monday. A huge thank you to all who have signed up to donate. Some reminders: If you are donating you will receive your Pink Donation Pass in Advisory on Monday morning.     Wednesday, April 22 - Day 5 


    1.   Writing Center will not meet after school today. Please find us in the library on Thursday this week for all your writing needs.
    2. Fordham Sumer Leaders Academy-- for more information please come down to guidance to review the brochure. 
    3. The PWGC Scholarship program is available! Please check Naviance for more information and the attached application! 
    4. Students needing service hours can contact Mrs. Fatuzzo by email to assist in prepping and planting the North Babylon food pantry garden. We meet at the garden at 9 AM on Saturdays starting this week, April 25. Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Bring drinking water. Sign up for a shift or two by email. Details will be sent to you. All are welcome. 
    5. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT YOUR STUDENT COUNCIL APPLICATIONS. Anyone interested in joining must submit an application. That includes students who are presently in the student council. IF YOU DO NOT APPLY NOW, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN IN THE FALL. Once your application is completed, you may drop it off in the bin in the main office.

    8. Attention all Blood Donors - signed permission slips are DUE. Please make sure to submit your permission slips to Ms. DeLapi in Room 105 ASAP.

    Tuesday, April 21 - Day 4

    5. The Marine Angling Club is meeting today in room 131 at 3pm today. It will be a Chum meeting and you’ll have to stop in and find out what that means. New members are welcome.

    Monday, April 20 - Day 3 


    1. The last spots for the Dave and Buster's trip are currently available. Any freshman or sophomore interested should see Mrs. Brenner or Mr. Kehoe for a permission slip. The slip and money for the trip must be returned immediately. Again, this is for any remaining freshmen or sophomores interested in going on the Dave and Buster's trip on April 29.
    2. The table tennis club will meet today at 3PM in room 323. All are welcome.

    Friday, April 17 - Day 2 


    1. Any student who is interested in joining Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year must fill out an application. Applications are available in the main the office. All applications must be submitted by WEDNESDAY. IF YOU DO NOT APPLY NOW, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN IN THE FALL. Once your application is completed, you may drop it off in the bin in the main office. Any questions please see Miss Brady.
    2. On August 12, 2026, Good Samaritan University Hospital will be having “Exploring Careers in Health Care: A Symposium for High School Students”. Any Student at SJB or other local schools may apply. If you are interested in being involved in the Symposium, please pick up a flyer from Sister Marie Happ in room 211 within the next week, and use the QR Code for more information. 
    3. The table tennis club will meet on Monday 4/20 at 3PM in room 323. All are welcome. Today is SJB's Day of Giving. 
    4. Today is the last day to donate in your lunch period. The grade with the most points at the end of today wins a prize. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

    Thursday, April 16 - Day 1 


    1. Seniors going on retreat are reminded to please return permission slips and lunch forms to Ms. Maddalena by tomorrow!!
    2. Any student who is interested in joining Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year must fill out an application. Applications are available in the main the office. All applications must be submitted by WEDNESDAY. IF YOU DO NOT APPLY NOW, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN IN THE FALL. Once your application is completed, you may drop it off in the bin in the main office. Any questions please see Miss Brady. 
    3. This Friday, April 17th is SJB's Day of Giving. All week, we will be encouraging our student body to participate by donating any amount you can during your lunch period. Every penny donated is a point. A donation into your grade's bucket will add points for your grade but if you put your donation into another grade's bucket, it will deduct from their points. 
    4. We will also be having a $5 SJB Apparel Dress Down Day on Friday to celebrate the Day of Giving. 
    5. Attention Juniors - Acceptance letters from the National Honor Society are being distributed in Advisory today. If you applied and did not receive anything, please see Ms. DeLapi in Room 105 today. Signed letters and fees are due to Ms. DeLapi by Monday morning. Congrats to all. 
    6. Any graduating Senior who successfully donated two pints of blood, please confirm your name with Ms. DeLapi in order to receive your Blood Donor Cord for graduation. 
    7. Photography club will meet today, Thursday, April 16th at 2:45 in room 102. Both the darkroom and a digital studio space will be open. New members are welcome. 
    8. Gentle reminder that signed permission slips for the Spring Blood Drive on April 27 are due no later than Wednesday, April 23. Thank you for the gift of life! 
    9. Any student who was put on the wait list for the Dave and Buster's trip please check your email as some spots are now available. Please see Mrs. Brenner or Mr. Kehoe to get your permission slip. The slip and money is due immediately or you risk losing your spot.

    Tuesday, April 14 - Day 5 


    1. There will be a Marine Angling & Conservation Club meeting today in room 131 at 3 pm. The meeting will be about Wind and Waves and how it affects everything. Well at least everything to do with fishing.
    2. Students who are part of the MSI partnership, are reminded that this Wednesday we will be Shadowing in the Patient Pavilion. Please bring your Hospital ID and wear your blue shirt. See Sister Marie with any questions. 
    3. This is a reminder to all Math Honor Society Inductees that your permission slip and fee are due to Mrs. Stewart TODAY. If you have not turned it in, please do so after announcements. If you do not have your permission slip and fee and want to be inducted, you must see Mrs. Stewart immediately.

    Wednesday, April 1 - Special Day 


    1. Attention Juniors: Tomorrow is the deadline to submit applications to the National Honor Society - Completed applications must be submitted to Ms. DeLapi in Room 105 by tomorrow at 8am. This is a hard deadline - no late applications can be accepted.
    2. There will be a meeting of the National Honor Society today after school in the Lace Lecture Hall. 
    3. Anyone who signed up to donate blood at the Spring Blood Drive - please return signed permission slips and 16-year old paperwork ASAP - Our Drive is Monday, April 27. Thanks to all those who signed up. 
    4. National art honor society inductees please check your school email for acceptance letter. Form and payment is due to Mrs. Agoglia in room 108 no later then Tuesday April 14th.

    Tuesday, March 31 - Day 3


    1.  Any Senior who has successfully donated blood twice at a SJB Blood Drive - stop by Room 105 to see Ms. DeLapi about your NY Blood Center Cords. If you don't confirm with Ms. DeLapi, you will not receive your cord for graduation.
    2. Any student who is interested in joining Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year must fill out an application. Applications are available in the main office. All applications must be submitted by April 22nd. Once your application is completed, you may drop it off in the bin in the main office. Any questions please see Miss Brady. 
    3. Attention all Seniors: Please check your email to fill out a Google Form for Honor Society Graduation Cords. The deadline for this is today, March 31st. 
    4. National art honor society inductees please check your school email for your acceptance letter. Form and payment are due to Mrs. Agoglia in room 108 no later than Tuesday April 14th. 
    5. The Prague Max Memnon #34 Memorial Scholarship is now open. To apply please visit the guidance office or go on Naviance for an application. The deadline is April 17th. 
    6. Today is the last day to sign up for a Senior Retreat. Seniors should check their SJB email for the link to sign up for the retreat. See Ms. Maddalena with any questions. 
    7. The Marine Angling & Conservation Club will not be meeting today. Club members should check their Google Classroom for planning details for the club fishing trip over the break. 
    8. Seniors only please stop by Ms. Hall's room 331 for a special Easter raffle. 
    9. There will be a meeting of the National Honor Society on the Monday we return from Easter Break. All must attend.

    Friday, March 27 - Day 1


    1. Any student who is interested in joining Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year must fill out an application. Applications are available in the main office.     2. The Sister Mary Grace Memorial Scholarship for Health Care is now available on Naviance. This scholarship was named in memory of Sister Mary Grace to support students pursuing a career of service to the sick. To apply, please follow the directions on Naviance. 
    3. Campus Ministry invites all Seniors to sign up for a Senior Retreat. Retreats will be held on Fire Island after Easter break. Check your SJB email for the link to the Google Form to sign up. The last day to sign up is Tuesday March 31st. See Ms. Maddalena with any questions. 
    4. The Teufel Family is generously funding three scholarships, each in the amount of $5,000 to graduating Seniors. The deadline is April 1st. Please come by the guidance office to pick up an application if you are interested! 
    5. Mock Trial will meet today in Room 331 at 3 pm. 
    6. Attention all Seniors: Please check you email to fill out a Google Form for Honor Society Graduation Cords. The deadline for this is March 31st.

    Thursday, March 25 - Day 6


    1. The National Honor Society is thrilled to kick off the Spring Blood Drive - Monday, April 27! Our last drive was cancelled because of the snow, but nothing was going to stop us from rescheduling! Anyone 16 years or older, if you wish to make an appointment, stop by Room 105 and see Ms. DeLapi. Even if you had an appointment for the February drive, you need to come and make a new appointment and fill out new permission slips. Thanks in advance to all those willing to donate.

    1. The GENESIS program provides SJB students with instruction on how to conduct independent research and then apply these skills to investigating a real-world issue that interests them. It is the rare high school course where the topics to be studied are chosen by the student, not the teacher. Current 9th and 10th grade students who would like to be part of this program need to attend a mandatory meeting in the Lace Lecture Hall Today during their lunch period. The meeting will last no longer than 15 minutes and students planning to apply to be a Level 1 student for the 2026-2027 must attend. If you have any questions, please speak to Mr. Maher or Ms. MacEwen.
    2. There will be a brief Mock Trial Meeting today in room 331. 
    3. Any student who is interested in joining Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year must fill out an application. Applications are available in the main office. All applications must be submitted by April 22nd. Once your application is completed, you may drop it off in the bin in the main office. Any questions please see Miss Brady.

    1. ;Random Acts of Kindness needs your gently used children's books for our book drive. If everyone brought 1 book, 800 children would have access to greater literacy. New baby and children's books, teen reads are also accepted. Drop off in the bin located in the Cougar Cafe.
    2. Any freshman or sophomore who is considering applying to the GENESIS Research program will need to attend a mandatory informational meeting in the Lace Lecture Hall on Wednesday, March 25 during their lunch period. Attendance at this meeting is a requirement for admission to the program. If you have any questions, you can speak to Mr. Maher or Ms. MacEwen. 
    3. Any student who is interested in joining Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year must fill out an application. Applications are available in the main office. All applications must be submitted by April 22nd. Once your application is completed, you may drop it off in the bin in the main office. Any questions please see Miss Brady. 
    4. The Writing Center will be closed after school today.

    Wednesday, March 18 - Day 1

    2. Applications must be picked up from Sister Marie in Room 211 ASAP and you must also get the letter of graduation proof from Mrs. Olchovy in Mr. Albrecht’s Office as soon as possible. 
    3. The Marine Angling & Conservation club will not be meeting today. Go fish SJB and Erin go bragh!

    Monday, March 16 - Day 5

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Designed for high-achieving juniors and seniors of color who reside in the Town of Babylon, Ujima provides approximately 20 hours per week of hands-on training and mentorship. The program fosters leadership, community development and a wide range of essential public service roles to students.     1. Attention Seniors. The yearbook is a great way to look back on your friendships over the years.     2. Attention all students who signed up to donate blood - please submit all permission slips and paperwork to Ms. DeLapi by TODAY. Donated food items should be brought to your advisories for collection. All items will be donated to the Gerald Ryan Outreach Center in Wyandanch.

Participants must bring their own decorating supplies. You may enter as a team. No more than 4 people on a team. There will only be 20 entries so 1st come 1st serve!!!

    1. The North Babylon Food Pantry is in need of volunteers on Saturdays from 9:30 am- 1:30 pm. Sign up with Mrs. Fatuzzo in the guidance office to secure a date for your second quarter service hours.
    2. International students are invited to give service at a special event for children at Belmont Lake State Park on Saturday November 8th. Introduce school-age children to your country of origin, its culture, language and customs. See Ms. Fatuzzo in Guidance for more information.     5. Random Acts of Kindness Club begins this week. We work to promote Kindness through various activities and campaigns. Come be part of the Kindness revolution. Meetings are in Room 131 on Wednesday at 3 PM through 4:15 PM. All are welcome.

    2. Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. The idea for Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15th to October 15th, began as a way to promote the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic-Americans specifically those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Many communities mark the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans with festivals and educational activities.
